My work has been published in The Red Bulletin, ESPN.com, Sunday Star Times, Herald on Sunday, Metro Magazine, Sky Sports Magazine, Golf & Vacations Magazine Australia, WORLD Magazine, The Cut, New Zealand Golf Magazine, Rugby World and Rugby News.
I’ve freelanced as a copywriter with some of New Zealand’s leading creative agencies and worked on projects for Red Bull, Villa Maria, Westpac, Swanndri, Sanitarium, Vidal Wines, Unitec and Cambridge Kit Menswear.
From 2010 to 2015 I was the New Zealand Country Editor for The Red Bulletin, Red Bull’s lifestyle and adventure sports magazine published in 12 countries. I was responsible for liaising with the editorial head office in Austria, pitching story ideas, managing freelance writers and photographers, writing feature stories, profiles, internet copy, headlines, photo captions and sub-editing contributor’s copy.
Currently, I’m working as a writer/sub-editor for Spot On Publications. I provide editorial support to the publisher of NZ Mountain Biker, NZ Road Cyclist and The Motor Caravanner magazines. My responsibilities include writing original content and sub-editing supplied copy.
My first ghostwriting project was in 2015 when I worked on Zero to 60 with Tony Quinn, a self-made man who made his millions selling pet food before investing in his passion for motorsport. Tony built Highlands Motorsport Park in Central Otago in 2012 and bought Hampton Downs in 2015. As well as a circuit owner he’s also a very successful driver in his own right as well as the category owner of the Australian GT Championship.
‘Zero to 60’ went straight to Number One in the New Zealand Non-Fiction Bestseller’s List when it was released in August 2016 before it was knocked off the top spot by a certain Richie McCaw, the former All Blacks captain. Damn you, Richie!
I’m currently working on my second book for a leading New Zealand company celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017. The book tells the story of the highs and lows of managing a fast growing, family run business.
