My first ever published story was a 500-word review of the Pixies album Doolittle in my local paper, The Tuam Herald. Since then my stories have been published in: The Red Bulletin, ESPN.com, Sunday Star Times, Herald on Sunday, Metro Magazine, Sky Sports Magazine, Golf & Vacations Magazine Australia, WORLD Magazine, The Cut, New Zealand Golf Magazine, Rugby World and Rugby News.
From 2010 to 2015 I was the New Zealand Country Editor for The Red Bulletin, Red Bull’s lifestyle and adventure sports magazine published in 12 countries. I was responsible for liaising with the editorial head office in Austria, pitching story ideas, managing freelance writers and photographers, writing feature stories, profiles, internet copy, headlines, photo captions and sub-editing contributor’s copy.
Currently, I’m working as a writer/sub-editor for Spot On Publications. I provide editorial support to the publisher of NZ Mountain Biker, NZ Road Cyclist and The Motor Caravanner magazines. My responsibilities include writing original content and sub-editing supplied copy.
